Medway police shut down a street near a cemetery, where there is an “ongoing police action” taking place on Friday.
The police department informed the public of Oakland Street’s closure amidst an ongoing incident at 10:34 a.m. in a statement on Facebook. Police did not provide details about the incident or what prompted the police response.
“Residents in the area are requested to stay away from this area until the situation is resolved,” police said. “If you are driving, seek an alternate route. Updates will be made here.”
MetroLEC units, including SWAT, are assisting police. As of 12:38 p.m., police said it is unknown when the situation “will be resolved.
