To encourage people to try AI Mode, Google is now suggesting prompts based on your Search history. This is a pretty nice way to inform people about the kind of questions that work well.
Previously, all AI Mode users saw the same three suggestions. The most recent set includes: Help me find intro offers for popular gyms and workout classes, Make a table comparing memory foam vs hybrid mattresses, and What are some staycation things I can do this summer.
Google is now showing customized prompts “Based on your Google activity” to get people to try AI Mode. They refresh every time you visit the “Meet AI Mode” page via the Google app, Search widget, or Pixel Launcher shortcuts. My recommended prompts are pretty relevant:
- Tell me about the making of Slow Horses: I recently asked about season 5’s premiere date
- Recommend a Lenovo laptop: Work research in the past day
- Discuss Pixel Fold’s desktop mode: Ditto
We’re seeing this with the latest Google app beta (version 16.24) on Android and iOS with the AI Mode Search Lab enabled.
Since I/O 2025 last month, Google has expanded AI Mode to all users in the US. Last week, testing on Search Live’s audio-only mode got underway, while there’s also the ability to create financial charts.
Looking forward, there’s Search Live’s camera mode, Deep Search, agentic capabilities, and personal context.
