Fullscreen Quick Share redesign widely rolling out on Android

As announced earlier this month, Quick Share on Android is now widely rolling out the fullscreen redesign that provides a more guided experience.

Tapping on Quick Share, including via the Quick Settings Tile, system Share sheet, or shortcut in Files by Google, opens a two-tab layout (tall bottom bar) with M3 Expressive containers leveraged throughout. This replaces the bottom sheet.

If no media is selected, this takes you to the “Receive” tab with your device “Temporarily visible to everyone” whenever this screen is open. There is then a new progress indicator that gives you updates on the transfer. Once received, there are shortcuts to “View downloads” and open Google Photos.

The “Send” tab lets you “Select files to share,” with the system picker opening. You get a preview (which can be collapsed), while the cards for “Send to your devices” and “Send to nearby devices” show what is available as a grid. There’s also a QR button in the corner.

The Quick Share settings page, which has Material 3 Expressive flourishes, also has prominent Receive and Send buttons that take you to the correct tab. Meanwhile, “Everyone for 10 minutes” is a dedicated option alongside Your devices, Contacts, and Everyone.

This Quick Share redesign has been rolling out in recent weeks as a server-side update, and we’re seeing broad availability with the latest version of Google Play services (25.37.31).
