Fitbit Public Preview coming to more countries, adds VO2 Max, & US health records


After adding water and food logging, as well as making available to free users, the Fitbit Public Preview is now coming to more countries.

The personal health coach and redesigned app are coming to the following 37 new countries:


Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Taiwan.


Additionally, it now supports 27 new languages:

Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin American Spanish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, and Chinese (Traditional).


In terms of new features, Fitbit is bringing VO2 Max (previously referred to as Cardio Fitness Score) to the Public Preview app. It will appear in the Fitness tab under Key metrics.

In the US, the previously announced Medical Records feature is rolling out. This lets you “link your medical records to the Public Preview Fitbit app for a fuller picture of your health including your lab results, medications and visit history, all in one place and under your control.”

This is rolling out with version 4.67 of the Fitbit app “over the coming weeks.”
